Tonight at the Lawrence Performing Arts Center is the showing of the most complete "Metropolis" with music provided by the Alloy Orchestra. And so I came over in the afternoon and put out fifty bookmarks.

I finished reading "The Last Editor: How I Saved The New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times from Dullness and Complacency" by Jim Bellows which was a very good read. Bellows started off in the print business, moved to television, and finished up on the Internet. A very interesting career indeed.

I am now reading "Cary Grant: A Celebration" by Richard Schickel. Schickel is a good biographer and this book is a good read so far.

I went back over to The Dusty Bookshelf today and got a few more books. One that I am now reading!

I am now reading "The Last Editor: How I Saved The New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times from Dullness and Complacency" by Jum Bellows. This book will be reviewed in an issue of memoirs of editors and publishers, It should be a good issue.

I am now in Wamego, Kansas for the Oztoberfest. Thus far I have put out fifty bookmarks at the Wamego Public Library and fifty bookmarks at the Wizard of Oz Museum. I have been unable to get into the Columbian Theatre to put out any bookmarks. All-in-all this Oztoberfest has been very disappointing. Unlike last year's.

Now in Manhattan, Kansas where I am staying overnight. So far I have put out fifty bookmarks at the Manhattan Public Library and fifty bookmarks at The Dusty Bookshelf. At Hastings I put out twenty bookmarks. And at Hale Library on the KSU campus I put out eighty bookmarks. And I did get some books.

10/1/10

Today is the start of the Kansas Authors Club annual convention which is being held in Lawrence, Kansas this year. And so I was able to go over to the conference and I put out 100 bookmarks which I hope get taken. As this is a three day conference I am sure that the bookmarks will be taken.

I have prepared bookmarks to be put out tomorrow at the Oztoberfeast which is a two day event being held in Wamego, Kansas celebrating all things "Wizard of Oz." At which I am attending tomorrow. And for it I am going to put out bookmarks, fifty in each spot. And the bookmarks I'll be putting out are colored card stock of yellow and green.
